It's your funeral...
Discussion
... is a phrase I've heard before...
Well, yes it is, if I'm in the box, so I'll damn well chose the music I want..
The question is, what would you have played at your funeral? (humerous or moving, you decide)
I think I might have to have the Theme for the Common Man, but that may be down to the drag racer in me...
and yes, I am off to a funeral later today, hence the question.. and no, it isn't mine

Staying Alive by the Bee Gees?
Its also very strange to hear something played for someone at a funeral by the family that really does not reflect them at all.
I remember the family had requested something like Simply Red when the chap was really listening to Iron Maiden. There was some shoulder shrugging.

Perhaps they didn't want "Fear of the Dark" , "Holy Smoke" or "Bring your daughter to the slaughter" I remember the family had requested something like Simply Red when the chap was really listening to Iron Maiden. There was some shoulder shrugging.
Do you have to have a funeral, I know it is a sort of final goodbye for your loved ones but I have to confess I don't see the point for myself.
I'm not religious so any funeral in a church would seem wrong. I'm done nothing interesting in my life to celebrate, so why no just pop me in the oven and be done with.
The only thing I've told me kids is I want to be cremated and my ashes to be put in a pot with a Bay Tree planted over the top.
Once I'm dead, I'm gone. So why make it all linger on for longer than necessary.

I agree, but you have to remember that your memory will live on in the minds of those that have loved you.To me my funeral will be one last opportunity for all my friends and relatives to have a massive party on me.
