Sorry to borrow Big Dubs format, but time for everything under one roof. I'll post up here all the others I have added to over the years.... but time for my new mixes.

I’ll have 2 ‘E’s please Bob! Okay you lot, have ‘Early’ and ‘Epic’ – 2 E’s to get the Trancer in your life going.

Operation ‘clear the decks’ is in full swing! To fill everyone in, I’m in hospital for a major operation very shortly, so I have decided to get my finger out of my posterior, and get the Trance cleared from my decks. And before anyone asks, no, I won’t be answering to ‘Donna1’ after the op.....

Firstly for your aural delights is ‘Early’. This is the kind of stuff I’d want to hear for the first set in a Trance night – a little bit of something to get your foot tapping, before you start the night properly.

I have to apologise profusely to my gorgeous wife about this one.

You see, she went to Ibiza with the ladies, leaving me at home with the hound. I wanted to supply her with something to enjoy on the White Isle, but just didn’t get around to doing it. And so it’s just sat on my decks for ages.... and now it’s time for a clean-out!

We realised it was a shocking travesty that needed something doing about it. No, I’m not going to be putting my underpants on over spandex leggings and going and fighting crime. But rather Fin (my brother), and I realised that we had never recorded a mix together.

So here it is!

Serious Rising (original name Cirrus Rising, but miss-heard), starts as a bit of proggy goodness, before moving into the wonderful world of Trance. There are a few nods to the past here and there (including one vinyl track), so hopefully you lot will enjoy it as much as we had making it.

Well, as those of you who have seen on the mixes and DJ page (hint!), I have been suffering a little (lot) with back problems. Thankfully my wonderful wife found a Malay lady to use me as a dartboard, and the results are amazing. So I’ve decided to really get a move on and try to get rid of these tracks (still, again), so be prepared for hopefully at least one more this month. So this one is called Impact, and is faster than last time, with some really good bass-heavy tracks on it. Feedback is always welcome, and I’ll catch you lot later on this month....

Argh! I just realised that the summer holiday season is now on us, (those who have already been to the white isle this year, I hate you), and I haven’t done anything for the beach / getting ready to go out (which, let’s face it, is all House music is good for.... heh heh heh)

So instead of more Trance, here is a feeling good, slightly too much sun on your skin, slightly tipsy take on some modern House. And yes, it has LMFAO and Example on it. So sue me... (I’m actually enjoying Examples work – I hope this isn’t a slippery slope into Dubstep!). Oh yes, and I didn’t enjoy looking for this artwork at all. No Sir. Wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Also I’ve had someone ask me if I was actually playing this live or programming it, I thought I’d have some fun with the last mix....

I’m so, so, sorry. This mix has been hanging over my head like the sword of Damocles since last summer. To fill you in, this was supposed to be recorded live in a club in Hungary, where a friend had sorted out some sets for myself and other DJ’s in the wedding party (a final party before the wedding). It was recorded, but then the recording was corrupted by a well-meaning member of staff at the club.

So Andy, Katka, it’s finally here. Sorry about the wait!

Just putting up some more history....

Picture the scene...

It’s the day after one of the finest weddings I have ever attended. Ibizan sunshine, and an amazing cast of people, back-dropped by stunning surroundings. Excellent food and wine supplied all day and night, with brilliant DJ’ing, fire dancers, new friends being made, and a very happy newly married couple.

So that was the day before – now, at 1pm, I’m expected to get the people shaking off their hangovers, and start the party again before heading off to Space. Erk! I have also asked the bride and groom what they would like to hear – ‘tracks that remind us of Ibiza, along with the Balearic House’. Double Erk!

So this mix is what happened.... I hope it takes you where we have been. Trust me, it’s a good place! Finally, thank you to the Dinsdales. Amazing.

Well, another year, and time for your next dose of Hard Cheese. This is the closest thing that I can say is a signature sound for me – and that’s not particularly a good thing! Hard Cheese is my take on House music, (being a die-hard Trance addict), and that can never be something good.... but bizarrely some people actually seem to like it?

As followers would know, I have been having a lot of fun with Mixed In Key, and proper set building within the set parameters... and I’m feeling a lot better about this one. Rather than building a set to a climatic finish, I’ve decided to build, release and start again – rather like waves peaking, rather than a tsunami... Works well for House, but I’m not convinced it will for Trance. Watch this space...

The PH selected greatest Trrance 2000-2010

As some of you may know, I asked an open question over the Xmas break – what best Trance tracks came from the last 10 years?

There was a massive outpouring of such amazing tunes, that to fit them on a single CD would be foolish, so expect another edition later on in the year. But there was also an issue of trying to keep this away from a ‘Now, that’s what I call Trance’ style of music – but still keeping the tunes recognisable and something that the true trance aficionado will like and understand. I have also tried to emulate the styles of the DJ’s that I particularly enjoyed during this decade – the silky smooth Simon Patterson, the chopping and hard mix of John Askew and the ‘crowbar it in there at all costs’ style of (name deleted on legal advice).
