NIN cover on X-Factor - f***ing travesty!

Can someone explain exactly WHY Leona Lewis feels able to cover "Hurt"? Given the context of the song (in general, let alone specifics), it's hardly appropriate.


And worse, she COMPLETELY fked it up...yes she's got an amazing voice, but that doesn't mean she can deliver the meaning behind a song...she lacked ANY sort of emotion behind the sorrowful parts, and belted out the end as almost upbeat, no anger at all.


Cash's version was sublime...IMHO better than TRs original. But with Cash's whole life coming through in his voice, you can understand why.
