Albums I have borrowed First Impressions
Discussion
Firstly "50 Words for Snow". Kate seems to want to "strip" down her music and it does not work. Part of the delight of her albums prior to "Aerial" was the "layers" of instruments with Kate singing on top. Now She's trying simpler songs and more individual performances it just doesn't work for me. And stop using your son as a vocalist. It just does not work!!!
Secondly "New Blood" by Peter Gabriel. Basically Orchestral versions of tracks mainly from "Melt" on. Generally it is quite good giving some old favourites a new twist. The Tracks from "Security" are well served here. However others such as "Intruder" from "Melt" feel they need a bit more drive to make them work. I'm not convinced by the Use of Ane Brun as the female vocalist. Her range does not suit the songs where Kate Bush was the original backing singer. Overall a good filler until the Next original Peter Gabriel Album.
