First Tribute Band
Discussion
Oh you're in for a treat.
Whole Lotta Led are simply fantastic. Seen them several times at The Standard in Walthamstow. (now closed I'm sad to say).
To call them a tribute band rather understates their performance.
Now you've made me think of them I'm searching for a local gig! Found one...Saurday week.
The others I can recommend as being totally brilliant are Limehouse Lizzy. I never got to see Zep back in the day, but I saw Thin Lizzy lots of times. A Limehouse Lizzy gig is like being back at The Rainbow in 1978.

Really?
I didn't know that, seen lots of bands there over the years and it was always a good venue.
Most bizarre was the Crazy World of Arthur Brown.

I recall going to The Standard way way back into the 1970's when it was just a gig venue rather than something of a specialist tribute band place. A lot of history being lost. Don't know why it closed but I guess there will be another bland block of flats there at some point.
Crazy World of Arthur Brown have been on the list to see/experience, just not ticked off yet.
We used to have some great venues in and around north east London. Three Rabbits (saw Wishbone Ash there if I recall correctly), Ruskin Arms, The Standard etc etc.....I have reached the age where I have my own catalogue of nostalgia!

That's a real shame. Yeah, been to all those in the past as I'm from Leytonstone originally.
Think the last venue I went to around that area apart from the Standard must have been a little boozer next to Wood Street station, near Whipps Cross Road. Think it was the Vibrators about 8 years ago, although I can't remember the name of the pub. Think Eddie Tenpole played around the same time.
