An interesting project I'm doing

I'm currently on an extended diploma sound engineering course at Confetti Studios in Nottingham. We get a load of projects, most of which are boring but necessary to ensure we're competent.
However, I was given a task a few weeks ago which I'm actually really enjoying. It's called "Individual Project" and you can do anything on it. Enjoy cooking? Research making food and cook some up as an "artefact". Being music obsessed as I am, music was the natural choice. I was actually going to do something car-related, but it's difficult to produce an object from that.
Anyway, I've decided to compose, record and mix an original song. Not an easy task when you've got less than 3 months. I'm creating a blog where I am going to be detailing everything that I do, so if you're interested in these areas, you may actually enjoy reading about it or laughing at my general uselessness. If you're new to any of these areas, who knows, you might actually learn something!
I'm going to be taking a ton of screenshots of the mixing and possibly some photos of recording. The blog is there for me to track my progress and as the song develops I'm going to upload it to SoundCloud and watch it become gradually better. Again if you're not knowledgeable on stuff like recording or mixing this might be helpful, it's there and I'm not going to delete it, I'm also explaining it in the blog.
