Just been listening to some of the stuff I bought years ago on vinyl, but haven't heard for an age - and it's very good.

Hardly underrated though are they?

Any early ZZTop album features some fantastic blues.Know how many covers there are of 'Waiting for the bus/Jesus just left Chicago' or 'Blue jean blues'?

They're not underrated at all it's just their recent albums are st!

I don't particularly like ZZ Top. Just seems to me like cheesy American 80's rock, my opinion though. I haven't heard much apart from a few singles - what I've heard doesn't make me want to go through their discography looking for good stuff.

I think Gary Moore is underrated. Frequently placed below people like Clapton and Jimmy Page and as much as I like them two I reckon Gary could blow them out of the water. Most non-guitarists I speak to don't have any idea who he is, in fact a lot of people I talk to in general don't know him.

Excellent guitarist, very tasteful. I like his voice too.

The one group that does spring to mind is The Chicken Shack.

Good, honest blues by a fairly obscure late 60's outfit with Stan Webb on lead guitar, Christine Perfect on keyboard, and John McVie on bass. Pretty much a precursor to Fleetwood Mac.

Love Blue Jean Blues. It's a song I know, the main progression at least. I knew it but I was never sure where I had heard it, so thanks

The others I'm rather neutral on. I don't dislike them, but I don't particularly dislike them either.

Well, we'll never know. But what he did produce is enough to be thankful for. There was nothing sadder than seeing PG on stage with Splinter Group, and looking like he'd rather be anywhere else.
