I'm not sure how many people are into Rap in this forum but I thought it might be cool to have a place where we could share up and coming/not very mainstream rap artists. I know there is a thread about Hip-Hop lyrics etc but this is for general Rap, not just Hip-Hop.

For example some of the people/songs I'm into right now, that a lot of people I talk to have never heard of:

Macklemore - Can't Hold Us
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhxeomGHhs0

Macklemore - Irish Celebration
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srp81vkFkEU&fea...

to be honest I'm into most of Macklemore's music.

Mac Miller - Smile Back (I appreciate he's quite big now, but still not very well known in the UK)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_Mt6Isew_0

Big K.R.I.T - Somedayz
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oVgq-QrwRM

Chris Webby - I need a Dollar
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylqNUIKUdIE

Buck 65 - Paper Airplanes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WBgC3wufOU

So does anyone have any other suggestions of people I might like or any other artists who are doing good things but have not reached mainstream yet?

I've got a mate who is really into rap music, and he's been banging on about The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar at the moment. I believe The Weeknd is supporting Drake on his UK tour this year.

Yeah I'm really liking Kendrick Lamar at the moment as well but so much The Weeknd to be honest. Ask him what else he likes wink

I'll check this one out later as I'm at work right now. I've heard positive things about it though so cheers!

How can you quote J Cole and Mac Miller without using Work Out & Donald Trump as examples?!

Both great artists, J Cole puts on a good show live.
Purely because I had just been listening to Smile Back and so it was stuck in my head. I admit when I saw Cole World I wondered why that had been chosen over some of his other songs but hey ho!

I missed seeing Mac live last year, didn't realise that he was doing 3 shows in the UK until 2 days after the last one, otherwise I'd have been all over it.

Maybe because worrk out is coles weakest song on the album and was nearly a bonus track?
