Dodgy

Went to see Dodgy last night. Completely floored to discover on Thursday through the local rag that they were playing my town, after I tried and failed to get tix for Turin Brakes who amazingly, were playing on the same night round the corner.

Talk about a trip down memory lane, they're touring a new album, but played all the old hits in the 2nd set. More like Podgy than Dodgy these days, but I had a great night, and have to say, very high standard of musicianship from the band. One thing, Andy Miller, the guitarist, looked, frankly, unwell. Thin, pallid, not at all as I remember him. Hope the guy's ok.

I saw them back in the day, great band, Is it the original line up?

Free Peace Sweet was one of my favourite albums of the 'brit pop' era, when I was just getting into guitar music in a big way. I loved the drum rolls and the Who-like harmonies (though 'Good Enough' always irritated slightly!). I should check out the new stuff!
