That's what I do, I refuse to buy non-lossless music when CDs are cheaper

I asked this a while ago and it seemed like the answer was no. There are the odd website that provides high quality downloads but they tend to be a bit specialist (beatport springs to mind here but no good if you're not looking for dance music). I'm currently subscribed to spotify premium and if I find something I really like I'll buy the album and rip it lossless.

7digital sell some albums in FLAC

Bleep.com and boomkat.com both sell flac and wav versions of most of what they sell but its a more specialised selection as opposed to itunes splurge of a bit of everything.

Thread revival. But I am looking for a specific album from US that I can't buy here so would like to get a FLAC copy instead.

Looks like HD Tracks (US) and QoBuz (France) have it. Any preference or are their better sites?

I use Murfie (US site).

You actually buy the physical CD which they then store and create a FLAC or MP3 copy for you to download. They will source albums if they don't have it already.

There is no sign-up fee and they seem to be very good with more obscure stuff. Quality is good also.

I have used Qobuz.

They sell Hi-Res FLACs as well as CD quality so quite future proof if technology can finally improve audio reproduction from the 1960s.

It is French based company but international website and app.

Not always pefect but they did give me a free album when I was charged more than I thought for streaming.
