My first post in the music section, so hello first of all.

I was going through my iPod today and not only is all my music stuff that has been in there for ages but all the bands I like aren't making music any more. I'm not really into a scene so don't really hear any new stuff but what I like is rock music. ACDC, motorhead, metallica, guns and roses etc etc. Are there any bands currently making music thats as good as these guys? I fancy buying a few albums tonight so give me some suggestions. I do like stuff like foo fighters, but not as much as I like the more classic stuff.

TIA

Chris

It's the law that an old rock fart has to (claim to) like Muse. smile More progressive and bombastic, of course.

There are some newer bands that are not far away from some of the bands you mention. But I haven't found one with the the song-writing skills, yet. The Answer and The Union were two I saw recently.

I like some of Muse's music, but not other stuff. I'll check out the other two bands smile

Try Wolfmother and try Queens Of The Stone age's album called Songs For The Deaf.

Neither are "new" but you may like them if you havn't listened before!

Thanks for these...

I'm not a huge fan of Queens of the stone age, but I might give them another chance. I've had a listen to the other bands listed too, and particularly like Black Stone Cherry, so I'm going to download one of their albums too and have a brose through more of the other stuff before I buy any more smile

Edit: downloaded "between the devil and the deep blue see" because I liked "white trash millionaire" that I heard on youtube

Good choice. If you like the harder, heavier BSC songs, try their first (self-titled) album.

Another suggestion for you: Stone Sour, who range from this

Nice, they sounds pretty awesome! I like bands who have such a range, metallica for example. From "Mama Said" to "Metal Militia".

Yep, saw them both at Wembley a while back, and seeing BSC again on Tuesday.
