Song title help! - 80's ?

I've just overheard a song and I cant for the life of me remember who it was by.

I think it must be some 80's power pop/rock song, similar to the Ausie band Icehouse with lyrics like

"always needed someone like yoooooooooou...." (The you is dragged out)
Chorus has something like "and I ruuuuuuuuuuuun, I run to far away"

Lots of synth and fairly upbeat

I love this track, have on vinyl somewhere. One and a half minute intro, they don't make pop tunes like this anymore.

Ska Rangers cover in The Hangover pt 2 has revived this tune.
