Your hidden rare 12" gems - dusty vinyls
Discussion
^^^ Quite jealous of that one (although the availability of almost every MP3 on line has crushed the sense of 'obscurity' for me)...
Mine is Science Dept - Breathe (Lexicon Avenue Dub)... It probably won't mean anything to most folk and would probably be valued at the 50p I paid for it, but the tune was a progressive house anthem about 10 years ago, and this particular version never got released officially on vinyl... I found it in a bare promo sleeve market up as something else in a backstreet s/h vinyl shop and was pleasently suprised when I recognised what I'd got!
My dad had promo vinyls of Pink Floyd's 'Shine On...' and Led Zep's 'Black Country Woman' that he aquired somehow in the 70s... Left them both in the jukebox of our pub when my folks sold it... Didn't realise they were worth anything at the time!

The only vinyl record I still have is Erotic City 12" extended version by Prince. I've probably only kept it because I've never yet found a digital version of it online. It's been laying around the front room at home for about 2 years now, with no cover so is probably properly buggered.
No worries though, as I've no record deck to play it on anyways!

I have no interest in vinyl but have just sold my late Father's collection (or the majority of) via eBay.
I am sure that the old man has a box stashed away with the really rare stuff somewhere. Banned Sex Pistols, green Beatles records and some Led Zeppelin bits amongst others he talked of.
I'll find it one day, cry, and then seek a collector.

Got the original 'Adam Ants' Prince Charming double fold-out album from what, '83? Might be quite rare now.
Also have an 'Iron Maiden' picture disc that is supposed to have a track on the 'B' side but is actually the wrong track - they only pressed and distributed around 100 before the mistake was noticed. Is that quite rare?

Come on, we've all got one or two in the loft.
What rare or unusual vinyl do you have in the 'currently redundant' section of your house?
I'll kick off with this:
Artist: Genaside II
Title: Narra Mine
Proper hardcore/urban dance from the early 90's
Whotcha got ?
Can't remember whether I have this one but I do have some other stuff from the same label. Never found anything else quite like it so if you have any similar recommendations it would be much appreciated!

Couple of early Guns And Roses 12 picture discs. Haven't seen them for a few years. One for sure,I think "It's So Easy" states from the forthcoming album Appetite for Destruction. Also an unplayed imported Jap copy of the same album.
Oh also picked up a copy of their first indie EP in Shades off Waldour St and put it down and bought a Dokken 12" instead!?!?

I have this too along with about 500 others of the same era

Bet you know the words to the rap part?!
I think there's two 12" singles in my vinyl cabinet.
MARRS: Pump Up The Volume
Frankie: Two Tribes
Other vinyl in there that's maybe a little less common are Who Will Save The World by The Groundhogs (signed by Tony McPhee), In Rock by Deep Purple picture disc, and
the original soundtracks to Fiddler On The Roof (1971) and South Pacific (1958).
