One I like for winter/motorway/driving out in the moors is Theme From Antarctica by Vangelis. If youtubing it avoid the crappy covers and it's the main theme not 'echoes of ' or 'memories of'.
There's a track by LCDSoundsystem called 45.33 which is a long mix of house, soul and synth.
Also try Moby's New Dawn Fades cover from the film Heat and the new BMW advert, it is made for driving.
