creating guitar tabs

Anyone know of free software to create some guitar tabs? Or if no such thing exists, any hints n tips on creating tabs using standard MS office applications?

In the "olden days" (OLGA.net anyone?) it was always done using a standard text editor like notepad, since it used a monospace font, meaning everything lined up predictably.

I have managed to do a very good job of creating some tabs using MS Visio. Well pleased with the results, and now I have the basic template the rest will not take as long.
