Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds
Discussion
I still think his album is the best thing to come out of the Oasis camp for a long time. Now that Liam has completely knackered his voice over the years he is also the beter vocalist... I was tending to prefer Noels's vocals these days anyway.
The 'Birds are accomplished live, but as with Oasis post about 1994 have very little on stage energy. I just wish Noel moved a bit more and looked a bit more like he was enjoying himself sometimes!

I agree, they were absolutely spectacular but very matter of fact. They just came on and started playing. There was a tiny bit of banter about football and he even said himself "that's enough talking" after he'd introduced the band. Still, rather have that than Elbow where I get to the point where its shut up waffling and play something will you.

His album stands up with the first two Oasis albums very well.
I'd agree with that. The first two Oasis albums (and associated B sides) were a huge out pouring of talent and then it dried up as Noel ran out of material. He has gone away and written an absolute belter with the High Flying Birds album.Marvindodgers said:

Saw him last night at the Singapore F1. New stuff was excellent - I was disappointed he chose to rely on a few old Oasis back catalogue numbers - Wonderwall, Look Back in Anger etc. Overall positive feeling about the band.

I watched them on Sunday night at the F1 too and thoroughly enjoyed both the new stuff and the classics. I managed to get into the "Fanzone" right at the front too which was awesome! Never got to see Oasis live, which I've always regretted, so was awesome to see Noel play a few of the classics. Already bought their album (only a fiver on iTunes!).
Agree on the band's stage presence however, they could do with a bit more interaction but then Noel was pretty much as you'd expect with a few sarcastic (explicit) quips to the crowd between songs
