Heard this on the radio this morning.

Burton's role = Liam Neeson

+ Gary Barlow and Joss Stone featuring (sorry missed who they were playing).

Now to me, WotW was just perfect. Burton was amazing and it was the backdrop to my childhood. So much so that it got me into Sci-Fi.

So what are your thoughts on the remake - nice idea to bring it to a new audience or sacrilidge.

I heard Joss Stone singing one of the tracks this morning and it just didn't feel right to me.

Should be left alone.

It's a classic for a reason.

I must admit I did think "Why?" when I heard it, but the production sounded quite different from the few clips they played, so why not?

It might appeal to a whole new audience.

I'm not a die-hard original fan though as I never bothered with it much in period and only bought my copy a few years ago - It's pretty good though.

It is a classic and will remain so, but the only way to make any money in this, the digital download, age, is to have a live and tourable version.

By having new performers re-cut the classic tracks it gains another lease of life as a live show - something that it never could be when originally produced. Production techniques have moved on in leaps and bounds.

If you consider it more as an opera, where the feature artists change over time I think you'll see it in a different light perhaps ?

At least Tom Cruise doesn't feature in it biggrin
