Ok so a while back in my wisdom i decided to sell my pioneer djm500 mixer and go down the ableton route. Done a few mixes but miss the vinyl. I have a vestax midi controller so looking at getting a soundcard like the native 2dj so i can use the vestax midi controller live. What i wondered was is there an easy way to get the vinyl back too or will i need to get a separate mixer again? I wasn't sure if on some of these soundcards you can put a deck into it but use the midi to control the sound like a traditional mixer?

If you want to use Vinyl, you'll need either Traktor Scratch A6 (£239ish) or Serato SL2. You can then route the Audio out of the Soundcard, and control it with the Vestax

Any soundcard you use will need to have phono pre-amps if you want to use a signal from Vinyl, and Traktor and Serato are the best options (btw, I work with Native)..

You could look at the new Traktor Z2 if you want a mixer with Traktor Scratch Pro built in, but that's a bit more at just over £600..

Cheers

Cheers for that. I think I'll just look for a cheapish mixer in that case!
