Mixing software

Not sure whether to put this here or "Computers and Gadgets" so mods please move to where you think is best.

I'm after recommendations for some free and simple mixing software. I certainly don't need anything of a pro standard.

This will be to create a CD of tracks Mrs CoolC will use in her upcoming Exercise to Music exams. So it will be some dance tunes of very similar BPM mixed with no gaps.

Looking online there are loads come up in a search, so just looking for recommendations of any used by PHers.
