Madness and the new album

Madness, since 1978 on and off they have cracked on, long ago they lost the ear of the dj's but the few who followed the music path beyond the break and reform, through the good but flawed Wonderful album era on to the simply superb Liberty Of Norton Folgate epic concept album that really deserved to have had a wider audiance and airtime and now they have reached this point, a new album and single release, damned once again I am sure to be overlooked by the dj's who have not got the guts to play something slightly outside their comfort zone.

The new album, with a strange title and a cover by Peter Blake no less is a return to form for madness, a little bit more pop than the last album, it is reflective, upbeat, a little bit sad and joyous all on the same album!

All the tracks are floating about on Youtube, give some of them a listen or better still take a risk and buy the album, Madness are not all Baggy Trouser and Our House, they are much more and it is always an adventure to discover the new roads they take.

Madness, if ever a band deserved a lifetime award, this is it.

I must admit, Madness stand out as one of the most disappointing gigs I ever went to...

Maybe they've improved over the years?

Absolutely love TLONF and listen to it quote often, mainly on longer journeys as it all seems to flow one I to the other. Haven't heard anything from their new album, but will keep an eye out.

And there in lies the problem, too Chas and Dave? just to say that shows you are one of those I mentioned in my first post, you know little of their work and lump them in with a pub sing along combo! they did the Baggy Trousers bit over 30 years ago when they were young and wanted success, they have come a long way since then which was the point of this thread.

They are pretty good live, they are not Pink Floyd nor are they the Specials who are indeed awesome to see live, a Madness gig is an event in itself, a mix of new stuff and the old dance stuff, it's a party for 2000 people!

I've always liked madness and think TLONF is a fantastic album.
I've also got the new album, listened to it once so far and enjoyed it. There were a couple of times when I thought it sounded a bit Chas and Dave though. However, this didn't affect my enjoyment of it.

Just saw them on Jools holland and really liked the second track they played
