Im just home from seeing Elbow at Wembley Arena tonight. I'm a pretty seasoned gig-goer, but what a fantastic, fabulous evening. Top marks, Mr Garvey & Co. I'm contemplating revising my "top 5 ever gigs", and we're also fishing around now for some O2 tix for next week. Thoroughly recommended.

Careful; you're not allowed to like Elbow on PH.Saw them in Bournemouth a while back, and there were a couple of 'makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up' moments, most memorably at the end of Newborn, which was timed to perfection. You could see by the looks on their faces that they had absolutely nailed it to perfection.
Still think Asleep At The Back is their best album by far.
The string quartet playing Elbow tracks as the first support was a little different (and excellent!)
Wasn't that impressed with the second support band (Here We Go Magic) - I think they were lost in a venue that size.
It seemed to be that Elbow were simply enjoying playing the tracks they wanted to - they didn't have to do the "here's another from our new CD" which so many bands end up doing.
Loved the stage layout and the way they used it - was so much better than the band being trapped up on the stage, away from everyone.
Not sure if it's part of the Olympic legacy, but all the Wembley Arena staff were incredibly friendly and helpful as well :-)

I've defended Elbow on PH many a time, to the point that I can't be bothered with the nay-sayers any more, so I'm not going to do so here.
All I'll say is this... I bought the single Red after hearing Mark and Lard play it way back in the day, and haven't looked back since. A truly fantastic, ridiculously talented group of musicians. Seen them a dozen times or more at a guess over the years (I've lost count actually) and will continue to do so as long as they're around.
