SORRY! COMFORTABLY NUMB
Having been a huge floyd fan for 20 odd years, I must have listened to this song about a million times! And I'm still not not bored of it. I have listened to what must be every version ever recorded, and have decided that the live version on the is there anybody out there? album is my favourite. The main reasons being just how well performed it is, and of course because its the original floyd line up. I was just interested to hear which versions other floyd fans think is the best?

My brother in law used to use this track as a demo song at a high end HiFi shop where he worked, twenty years ago when quality mattered. Sounds strange but it was the quality of the silence on the really top end kit that made you shiver!! The Great Gig in the Sky works as well!!

This is truly uncanny. Just as the OP posted this I was listening to 'Comfortably numb' for the first time in years (and I mean years). My wife had just downloaded the remastered version from i-tunes and I had finally got the audio set up in the kitchen with new speakers that arrived today. My teenage daughters were sitting at the table eating and gave the impression of being totally underwhelmed.

Cue me winding up the wick and really enjoying it. (Secretly I'm pretty sure my 17 year old will be sharing this particular tune - the Floyd lives on!)

I saw roger live In London perform the wall a couple of years ago, but its not pink floyd!

I've seen it performed live by Dave, Roger and Floyd themselves (many times).

Ironically, the one that stands out for me was Daves version of it.

Comfortably Numb has been described as the second-best guitar solo ever recorded, followed by the best guitar solo ever recorded. I particularly like the Live in Gdansk version.

I liked the version performed at Live Eight (or what ever it was called) the re-arranged guitar solo's were ace. Plus was a good band reunion

Seeing Floyd at the 94 Earls Court gig was unforgettable. This was when during the solo the huge glitter ball was used - it was amazing.
