Old vinyl records

Just clearing the last few things from my late mother's house and come across quite a few 33 and 45 records. Is there a market for these, mainly from the 1960-80s? Don't want to give them away to charity in case they have some inherent value. Mainly Elvis and Beatles stuff I think.

There's very little vinyl that's worth money, and for very mainstream acts like Elvis and the beatles millions were pressed, very very many are still around so the value is £nowt. For Elvis you'd need something like an early Sun recording before he was well known.
If you want to reassure yourself check out asking prices at cdandlp.com for some of her records. If you have anthing with a high price would be worth putting on ebay.

Condition is everything, both the record and the cover. I've a mental list (that is, a list I keep in my head, not the other one) of stuff that I have an idea is worth good money, but I've given up on looking in the car boot sales because vinyl is just dumped in big boxes on damp floors. Even if I find one, it's not going to be worth anything. If yours are in superb condition, you might have something of value.

Simple way is to try searching for the relevent album on eBay. Some can be worth a fair amount, I have several in my collection going for between £50 & £100 on eBay and as I looked after my LPs I'm pretty happy with that.
