If I drop a pick I just grab the next one and keep going, and retreive the original one afterwards (if I can find it).

I'm sure drummers do the same with sticks.

I used to sell quite a bit of that stuff when I worked in a music shop. I never liked it though - when drumming (I'm a guitarist but have a drumkit too, wouldn't say I'm a drummer haha) I prefer to use stick tape or wear drumming gloves.
