ooh, just remembered one:

Peter Green - The Stumble.

The version which used to introduce Paul Jones 'with another hour of the best in Rhythm and Blues' is the definitive imho. Gary Moore had a decent stab at it, but that particular take was just spot on!

This one which is Green with the Bluesbreakers in 1967 is close.

I always thought it was a very clever conceit of Gary Numan to finish Replicas with two instrumentals (When the Machines Rock and I Nearly Married A Human) and the open The Pleasure Principle With Airlane. All great tracks imo.

I didn't say he could! An effective vocalist in his early years, yes he was, and latterly much better, the 1984-1994 period is certainly best forgotten. Great writer of songs, definitley.

Hmm I'll grant you Son of Mr Green Genes and Peaches are brilliant..but Gumbo Variations etc..? It's a stunning album but FZ has done so much other stuff that never gets a mention. I'll nominate:

Apostrophe - with Jack Bruce on bass to FZ's lead. Sooo many others.
