John Grant - Pale Green Ghosts

I've been listening to John Grant's album Pale Green Ghosts on heavy rotation all week after hearing Jo Wiley play a heavily edited version of the track GMF on her show last week. It is a fantastic record, with so much going on - a bit of Depeche Mode, a bit of Radiohead, a bit of The Human League, a bit of Leonard Cohen, a bit of, well, a lot of John's personal life in the lyrics and so on and so on. Splendid late night, headphones on listening.
I'm not aware of his previous band the Czars, but I will be using my friend Spotify to find out more. Highly recommended.

I heard GMF on Absolute the other night, liked that track but struggled a bit with the rest of the album.

I've been listening to that album for the last week or so, took a few listens to get into it, but some great tracks on it. Found it via a recommendation on Facebook by Paul Thomas Saunders (Check out his EP's, well worth a listen, especially the song 'Appointment in Samarra' - both are on Spotify, not as electronic sounding as John Grant, but excellent nonetheless)
