I found a great website this morning:

It lists all of the UK No.1's from the beginning of the charts up to a couple of years ago.

I was quite disappointed that out of all the really great tracks that hit the top spot in 1979, this was number one on the day I was born:

You are probably too young to appreciate it but that is an incredible song to be No.1 in 1979 when you think of the punk / new wave / disco stuff that was current then.
