I think I need an new amp.

I've got a big old Vox AC50, it is a wonderful thing but is very old and a little delicate. I do however really like the way it sounds (I've had it for 30 years).

I also have a little 5w vox modeling amp which is okish.

I've decided to sell the ac50 and replace it with something smaller and more managable and would therefore value your input.

Reverb

Sub £500 (hopefully a lot less).

I've been thinking about a laney lc 30 and have also just been reading about Hayden mo fo 15....
I'm not a massive fan of fender amps..

I play a tele, strat, burny super real (Les Paul clone), sheraton, my boy shoves his prs se through it.

All sorts from The Damned to very odd jazz, I want a very clean, clean sound with some nice o/d on tap.

Thoughts, input, opinions...

Have a look at the Laney Cub 12R. It has digital rather than spring reverb, but is well under your budget. Also has an attenuated input to knock it down to <1W and really drive the power tubes when you want overdrive. I use mine with strat, tele and LP, and love it, albeit that the sound has gone a bit muddy due to hammering the tubes so much.

Top of your budget, but I'd recommend the Egnater Tweaker. Keep your eyes peeled for a second hand one and you could get it well within budget. I've got the head version and love it.

Just saw the reverb requirement, which it doesn't have

I've also recently picked up a Laney IRT Studio which is also really good, but mainly on the clean/metal sounds rather than crunch. You could always look at the 15H head version and couple it with a small single speaker cab.

Plenty loud enough for small gigs, and makes a lovely sound when it's wound up. Clean tone is nice too, but won't quite have that "glassy" quality you get from a good Vox. Talking of which:

Thanks for the input so far. I'm not sure about an ac15, I have tried a couple and liked them but just felt there might be something slightly better...

Buy a Blues Junior with a Celestion V30 speaker in it. Can't go wrong. I've had many a vintage and boutique amp over the years but that's the combination I've ended up with. Industry standard and totally versatile.
