Are there any banjo players on here?
I have a banjo, know nothing about it other than it came from my great uncle in Kilmarnock, was built in GDR and has 5 strings.
Anyway, I ignored the top skinny string, tuned the other 4 strings up like a bass guitar and battered away on it, mostly trad Irish stuff. I'll also add that I can play the full Kill 'Em All album on it. Jump In The Fire on banjo sounds interesting if there's no other way to put it. I'm not the best guitarist ever but I can play.
Recently pulled it out of the attic, fitted a new set of strings and I'd love to learn how to play it properly.
Where do I begin?
Would also love to see some of your own videos.
