I had the great pleasure of playing with this chap for about a year back in the 1980's. One of the finest musicians I've ever met. Subtlety of touch on an acoustic I've never heard from any other.

Appropriate time to post this fab composition/vid - the guy is proper class.

I think he used to accompany Boothby Graffoe, the comedian, on stage many years ago. The name rings a bell.

I've had the album he did with Sabina Sciubba ("Meet Me In London") for years. That also prompted me to pick up "Acoustic Revenge". He really is a superb guitarist. Must look into some of his other releases...

He's one of only two guitarists I've worked with that can solo whist sight reading the chords in a studio setting, and after one take (with no rehearsal) I'll invariably say 'That was fine - it's up to you whether you do another'

(John Parricelli is the other)

What gits.

Here's an example of Antonio with a first time take: http://stevecarter.com/random/solo.mp3

ETA - out of interest here's Parricelli with a first take. If memory serves he didn't even know we were recording... this is his sound check!... I just decided it was a keeper. http://stevecarter.com/random/solo2.mp3

He's a talented player and I'd love to see him live. But his albums leave me a bit cold - they are too clean, clinical and "hi-fi demo room". Goes off to look at tour dates...
