Blondie - off to see one of my childhood Idols tonight!
Discussion
So, am I in for a fantastic experience, or will I be sadly disappointed?
Off to see Blondie at the Usher Hall tonight.
Probably the last chance to see her, seeing as she must be pushing late 60s now.
I always remember "that" poster of her in white boots and hotpants back when I were a lad, listening to Parallel Lines.
Getting quite excited by the prospect TBH.
Will report back tomorrow.
Anyone seen them recently?

Saw Blondie two weeks ago at Thetford forest.
Was really good, she has lost the power from her voice (with age?), but a really good show.
It was a mix of old and new stuff; the new songs are ok, but nothing special.
They were supported by Lightening Seeds, who I thought were really poor.

I hope they are better that the clips of IOW I saw. It was more cringeworthy than I can describe. Imagine your worst most cringeworthy experience and double it. You might be getting close.
All I could think of was a pink dildo trying to imitate a Japanese waiter.
Try this and see what you think:

that's scary alright.Have seen them twice before, first time was 'Parallel lines' time second time was 'Maria' time both times they were quite good, but that video you posted is just bad!
Saw Blondie at Kenwood House about 3 yrs ago, they were great and she's a proper old skool entertainer. Probably the 2nd best mature female live performer, but a long way behind Grace Jones, who I saw at the Roundhouse, and whose routine would have Jessica Ennis reaching for a ventilator.

Well they were epic!
So much so, I stuck around afterwards to get my ticket signed by Debbie, Clem, Leigh Foxx but unfortunately no Chris.
Probably one of the last chances to see them - so glad I did!
She may be 68 but she still has "it".
I was never the kind to have a poster on my wall, but I did like Blondie (especially the early stuff, pre Parallel Lines, although that's a good album). So much so, I stuck around afterwards to get my ticket signed by Debbie, Clem, Leigh Foxx but unfortunately no Chris.

I've never seen them live, and don't think I'll ever bother, but there's no doubt that, as a performer, Debbie Harry has more charisma in one eyelash than the current crop of 'divas' put together.
Glad you enjoyed it, it must be a great disappointment to wait ages to see a band/performer only for them to be awful
