Chris Isaak anyone?

Just sitting on the veranda listening to Chris Isaak's Wicked Game album with a glass of malt and I reckon it must be one of the most perfect records for these lazy summers evenings. I'm tempted to go on Amazon and buy a few more of his but don't know which way to go, earlier, later, who knows? Anyone on here like his stuff and could tell me what other albums of his are in a similar vein?

Dunno mate. Like you, I think Wicked Game is a cracking album, but I always had him down as a 'one trick pony' so I never bother to look into any of his other stuff.

Sounds like in the interests of Pistonheads people I'll have to do some research. I'll get onto Amazon and order the CDs recorded either side of Wicked Games and let you know

I quickly got bored with hearing 'Wicked Game' (the track, not the whole album) back when it was current, as it was ridiculously over-played on the radio at the time imo.

However, I heard 'You can't do a Thing (to stop me)' a couple of years later getting more sparse air-time and was blown away. I've just found out which album it was on (San Francisco Days) and have ordered it for the princely sum of £1.27.

Seems to have good reviews too .


Anyway, thanks for reminding me! I like buying albums based on hearing one track. It brings out the gambler in me...

It has to be one of the most heavily-covered tracks out there, particularly by artists who think they're being 'oh so clever' in doing so.

It has been said (somewhat cruelly) that Lana Del Ray is Chris Isaak in drag. However, musically, her stuff owes a lot to his and is therefore worth a listen if you like his music.
