On holiday from Uni working for a small builder in Guildford. I would have been labouring for the bloke laying a york stone crazy paving drive which is still going strong.

Just heard on the radio that it was 36 years ago that Elvis died, one of those things that I remember.

Why 36 years specifically?

(I was three and a half, and probably on holiday in Somerset - near Dunster - with my Mum, Dad and older brother.)

I was 2 months old at the time, so I'd have to ask. My best mate was 2 days old, so... despite what he'd tell anyone who'd listen for many years, he wasn't born the moment 'he' died and as such, not "possibly" the reincarnation of 'him'.

On my way to school, totally not bothered that Elvis had died. But when Mark Bolan died soon afterwards, I was gutted.

Stoke-on-Trent.

I had just pooed myself and was struggling with the necessary motor control to pick up my saliva-covered teddy bear and place it in a seated position next to me.

In 36 year's time I'll probably be doing broadly the same thing, although I'm hoping that the trappings of my career lead to an alternative setting.

Can't remember where I was, but I was driving a Capri 3000GTXLR.

Thinking about it, the 'factory fortnight' was last in July, first in August so I would have been at work (...in the Drawing Office designing things to make oversized bullets and other things that kill people and blow up tanks).
