Does anyone use any good apps they can recommend for beginner guitar players, tabs and songs etc
Pref free, the ultimate guitar tab app looks good but is £13.99 anyone use it and is it worth the outlay?

All the supposed instant guitar playing ideas I have seen over the years (67) have proved to be ineffective and expensive. Practice, practice, practice seems to be the best, real advice and FREE!

I use slow down player and Guitar toolkit and tab toolkit.

Just download tuxguitar, it's a free program that can play guitarpro and powertab files, which you can download for thousands of songs by thousands of bands from the Ultimateguitar website. Don't fall for paying money to play tabs.

I agree but you need songs to practice!

He isn't looking for a quick shortcut to being good at guitar, he is just looking for a way to play MIDI tabs. They can be quite useful in developing a guitarist's ear and helping them relate notes they hear in other's music or in their heads into finding the notes on the fretboard.

I live and learn every day. I started on classical guitar a very long time ago but I can understand the MIDI interest.

Get a teacher, if not get grade 1 book learn the stuff in there. Or just go on the internet and get tabs for free of the songs you want to learn.

Chordbank is a great little free app for chord fingerings etc.

Another vote for Tuxguitar, found a file somewhere online with about 54,000 tabs and never looked back.
