Have I missed something with regards their LP - When Hell Freezes Over

Now I bought a copy of this for £25 or so when it came out a few years back and I enjoy it - although I must admit that the intro to Hotel California is my favourite part of the record.


I thought there was a typo but then I looked elsewhere but can anyone explain why a copy of the record is currently on your localish auction site currently at the princely sum of $2495.

It'll be a case of there being no others for sale, so they price it the highest based on what they thing someone with deep pockets might pay

One ended at US$ 183 a month ago, so it's a decent price but not mega-money.

You can see others have been up to $600 at times

I've seen similar yo-yo prices recently with the LP's for:
Daft Punk - Tron Legacy soundtrack
Springsteen - Tom Joad, & The Rising
Oasis - Def Maybe, and Whats The Story
U2 - Atomic Bomb

Just had a detailed look at the one on Ebay - he's been holding out for months - declining lots of offers - I guess he really wants what his buy it now price is.

I have heard that a tactic to hold on to page rankings or click positions or something when you have zero stock is to price at an outrageous level, then when you do get replenished, pop it back down to a reasonable level.


OTOH that could be nonsense & it may just be a greedy vendor.
