What the hell happened? He seems to have a lot of talent, plus his debut album sold well! Bit before my time at 25 yrs of age but he should of been more recognised! Trying to find evidence of his cockiness online.....

Funnily enough I thought the same thing a couple of years ago, Googled him and as far as I remember he fell out with his record company and is living in France somewhere, still writing/performing music but under another name.

We was under consideration as a replacement frontman for INXS for a while, luckily he did not get it.

1st album, The Hardline According to.., was excellent (got it on vinyl, kids). Unf by the 2nd, Nither Fish nor Flesh (on CD), he was already dissapearing up his own arse.

Me too! First album is brilliant, rapid decline into utter knobbishness after that, shame, such a really pure voice.

Story goes that he really began to believe his own hype and pissed off a LOT of people in the UK music industry.

Shame, this was a particularly good tune.

I'd recommend this modern masterpiece to any fans of TTD.

Cody Chesnutt - Landing On A Hundred. His voice is similar to D'Arby's, the album is influenced by classic Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield.

That's Still Mama.

Been listening to that album for a few months now. It's ace, Cody Chesnutt has had a few troubles in his time too.

I have downloaded the rest of The Hardline and have got to say every track is fantastic! Managed to find a "88 edition if Rolling Stone on eBay that has an interview with him in it! Hope it's a good one! Face track is Let's Go Forward! Amazing

I think he spotted his own demise coming and came out with his get-out clause. Something along the lines of 'The music business wont allow more than one black performer to be successful at any one time'.

Shame, Hardline really promised more than he ultimately delivered.
