In the past I've sold amps on ebay, both times on a cash on collection basis. This seems to work well at the £200-300 level, but I'm thinking it's time to offload me neglected Tele, and it's worth a fair bit more.

Not interested in the risks of paypal claimback if I sell on ebay, so where else would be worth trying?

The forum on Music Radar used to be good. Not been on there for a while though.

Musicradar forum was taken offline a few months ago.

The regulars from there went here - http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/ - and that has a UK guitarists for sale section.

Naturally, if it's one of those old '50s Telecasters that are notoriously unwanted, to save you time and effort, I'll give you a hundred for it. If you put on some new strings.

Sadly for resale value it's not an unloved 50s relic, but a 1996 USA standard complete with 50th anniversary fender sticker. Unlike a 50s guitar it is pretty much spotless though...

That's a shame. Do you know what happened?

Part of the Future Music group of forums was attacked, vbulletin hackers , I think. FM took the decision to take them all down, as a security precaution. And then I think they realised that the forums contributed no money and took up a lot of bandwidth, so they decided to keep them switched off.

Just remembered that www.soundonsound.com has a readers ads section (not as big).

I've had good times buying & selling on Gumtree. It avoids the Ebay fees & nonsense if you insist on dealing in person. In person since Gumtree is essentially an anonymous free for all.

Gumtree and local FaceBook groups are good, all the ones I have sold have gone on there.

Cash on collection only, and make it clear in the ad. Touch wood I am yet to have a bad experience.

What colour is the Tele?

It's sunburst with a rosewood board.
