Just booked tickets for the Rock Royalty camping section with a couple of pals. Can't wait, haven't done a festival thing for years.

Looking forward to the Prodigy, I've wanted to see them for a long time. Seen Maiden so many times before, and Metallica a couple of times too.

Airbourne and Anthrax are high on the list to see as well.

Not sure about Chas & Dave though... lol.

Anyone else going?

I'm waiting for day tickets to be released so I can go on the Sunday. Looking forward to Metallica again. I'm also crossing all my fingers and toes in hope that SikTh will play here too. Seems wrong to not play their local festival!

Absolutely nothing on that line-up that I'm bothered about for that money.

Bloodstock is by far the better bet for me.

(Actually, Hellfest is the best one, but I can't do that one)

It's not a bad line-up at all, if were cheaper and a smaller festival I would be tempted although I've pretty much seen all the bands I'd be interested in. Lots of older 'big' bands. I could say the same about Bloodstock too, although I am actually going!

Have spent the past few months looking for a decent (probably foreign) festival to go to, looks like I will miss out this year.

Yep, just waiting for the Sunday tickets to go on sale.

Sonisphere has definitely trumped Download this year - very poor lineup for Donington (IMO).

I run through the site weekdays on my after work running route and it's looking pretty impressive now I've got to say. You'll also be pleased to know there is no mud (yet)so fingers crossed for you.

Not a metaller personally but for me I'd be going to see Gary Numan (on top form at the moment), 65 Days of Static and Sisters of Mercy....have fun.

Lucky enough to just open my bedroom windows and I can hear it all for free tongue out

I think Alt-fest is looking much more like my thing this year

Be interesting to see how New Model Army go down, they're a bit "folky" for Sonisphere I'd have thought.

Would have loved to go on Saturday as I really want to see Maiden at some point. Will be headlining a beer and music festival myself instead smile

I dunno, I think if you approach them without any hangups they're very accessible, and sonisphere does pitch itself as the slightly more open of the two bigger metal festivals here.

I've taken a few uninitiated to their gigs over the years and they've allways gone down a storm.

I'm walking distance and have a couple of mates coming too. My second Sonisphere. Line-up is good and it should be a laugh. Looking forward to Maiden - first time I'll have seen them at a festival.

I am broken. Sun burned, no voice and hungover. Thank God I'm working from home today. Highlights were Mastadon, Reel Big Fish (even with the power being cut for pretty much an entire song), Raging Speedhorn and of course, Metallica. Another fantastic festival!

I am absolutely dying. Just thrown up, sat waiting for my hotel room to come available.

Highlight moshing in pit during nirvana defiled.
Low point realising I was going to have a massive hangover today!

Given the tent was full and the crowd were screaming for more for a good five minutes after the set ended, I'd say they went down pretty well. cool

Got back this morning. Absolutely love it. Highlights from the weekend were Maiden and Metallica, obviously, Voodoo Marys were superb, as were Anthrax and Airbourne and the Black Spiders.

Dropkick Murphys were good fun, I even enjoyed the Devin Townsend Project in a weird kinda way.

Best day for me was the start to Saturday. Alestorm followed by Chas & Dave. Such a good laugh.

Felt for Seb Bach with his bands technical issues, I was right at the front centre for that, and have always loved Skid Row but can't help but feel his own material just doesn't cut the mustard. He really was up against it.

Lowlight. The mens loos in the main arena. Gross, gross, gross.

Highlight. Paying the extra for Rock Royalty, so I didn't have to use the above!!!
