Do you like this little house track I have just made?

Would love some feedback from those dance music lovers out there!

Hmmm, interesting one. FOR ME (and me only) it sits between not being deep or chilled out house, and being a real punchy banger. It feels like it needs more bass, or a slower tempo. I like how you've used stereo, the sample is good, although too limited for me. The drop is weak, but the production is sound.

Just some initial thoughts.

Thanks for the feedback Condi and it is very good feedback as I agree with all of it.

Are you into your dance music yourself, do you dj or produce or just like listening to it?

Thanks again.

I have no musical abilities what-so-ever, but have spent far too much money going to watch those who do!

Would love to be able to DJ, and I've 'played' in the past, but my fun comes from seeing those who are good at it.

I agree with a lot of what Condi says.

I'd go further and say it needs stripped right back, there's a lot of extra noises in there that you don't really need, they'll also date the track badly very quickly. I'd start with the beat you go outro with, and drop in your bass that comes in at ~20secs. The main riff that comes in at ~2:23 is the right sound but the notes/chord progression slows up the track when it should be driving it on, if this is a sample try chopping it up, if it's you playing a VST or similar that try messing around with that too.

The beat is solid, that should be pushed right up front and be the focal point for everything else, to hear type of thing that I think could be done with this track check out "Alloy Mental - God Is Green (Phil Kieran Club mix)", "Tam Cooper - Galactica (Jimpster remix" or "Motorcitysoul - Space Katzle (Jerome Sydenham remix)".

Thanks for feedback zb , will be having a play with it again the weekend, I use Reason 7 to produce the tune.

Liked that Alloy Mental tune!

Do you produce music as well?

Music production has been my hobby for about 25 years, from messing around with synthesizers to going totally software based (with hardware controllers now). I use Ableton, Wavelab, Making Waves and any VSTi synth/samples or FX I can get my hands on. I'm always trying to create a noise I haven't heard before.

I've DJed for about 20 years too, I was more active in the 90s playing free parties (call them raves if you want) and a few of Glasgow's less mainstream clubs. I still keep my hand in DJing (digitally now) but I pretty much retired in '97. Different priorities, and that scene was done as I knew it.

Nice to have a fellow dj producer on the site, I'm really trying to finish tracks now and try to improve my production skills. I would love to have some tracks released on beat port, well that's my goal!

Have you released any tracks mate?

I must have hundreds of loops I have started, and then got bored with lol!

No releases, just a hobby for me. I guess on here some folk will like to tinker around with engines, I like to tinker around with sounds.
