Anyone watching this?

Daventry Grohl just keeps going up in my estimation.

Hell I'd love to be musical and to have the ability and the chance to dick around with the deep board.

Want a Neve board now. Foo Fighters don't do much for me, but DG is outrageously talented isn't he?

I have to say as someone who spends every Monday evening in a grotty, electrically questionable rehearsal room, the state of the place & the comments about it really chime with me.

An excellent documentary. BBC 4 really do have this knack of coming up with some really top notch music programmes on Friday nights. A stark contrast to some of the mediocre stuff on 1 and 2. I only caught it from half way through, so definitely one for iPlayer.

Mightily impressed by Macca. How great would it be if he featured in QOTSA?Josh Homme supergroup?

I'm surprised they never got him involved in Them Crooked Vultures.

Great film. I spent the weekend catching up with artists such as Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac and Pat Benatar to hear a bit of that Neve sound!!

I guess there were problems with the building or the lease or something as it seems a shame that the desk was removed from Sound City and that fantastic recording room. I wonder why Grohl didn't just buy the whole complex as a going concern?

It was no longer a going concern. Edged out by cheap digital recording with kids in bedrooms using pro tools.

I understand that, but as Dave Grohl removed the desk to his own Studio 606, which is only a few miles away, still in LA, why not just take over the existing facility and refurbish it?
