OK, a bit of shameless self promotion, but what the heck. I've really enjoyed the music of Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys over the last 30 years or so - to my mind Brian was the ultimate tunesmith in 60's pop. I've spent the last month or so struggling to stick some chords together on the piano that pays homage to their music yet is not a cover version. This is the end result - I call it a tribute. Please have a listen and share it if you like it - I'd love to get 1000 views!

By the way, the David Brent-esque vid was filmed in my garage with a big green curtain hung up. See it was car related after all... :-)

Edited to add correct link!!

Yep, like them a lot they are part of the essential soundtrack of my youth.

Have a look at their Knebworth concert to see them win over a big crowd that weren't there to see some old guys play old music smile

Yep, really like the beach boys. I'm probably not the typical fan and having cotton fields on full volume driving through college a few years ago did get some strange looks!

Would give it a listen but link no workie!

Well I liked it!

If you ask me what my favourite band of all time was, well my heart would say the Beatles, but my head would have to say the Beach Boys. Particularly when you think of how prolific they were; their contract with Capitol required them to turn out an incredible FOUR albums a year (Beatles were only on two). Even taking into account that US albums of the time were shorter than British ones, and often contained a few 'filler' tracks, it's still a fantastic achievement.

My own pitiful attempts to emulate Brian and his brothers can be found here.

Like I said, pitiful, but at least you get to feast your eyes on some of the nice guitars I've owned over the years.
