The Kinks - 'Apeman': what car is that?

At the beginning of the Kinks 'Apeman', we hear a car hooter and an engine revving. Can anyone tell me what car this is? I've just always wondered!

I think it's a Hillman Minx, Singer Gazelle or a Humber Sceptre. They were all pretty much of a muchness, badged in various levels of dullness.
