Indie/New music thread

This stuff is really my first love. From the Smiths to the Stone Roses to the Shins & all points in between. So I'd be interested in meeting minds with similar souls & discovering new goods stuff in the process.
Coming up for me is Bernard Butler's new thing, Trans. Got tix for this Saturday & very much looking forward to it - Bernard Butler + band for a fiver, can't go wrong.

And just booked to see Teleman in May. Definitely an up & coming outfit, excited by this gig.

You may like this, Satisfier by Brace/Choir (especially the last 4 minutes). Been playing their new album in the car all week, and it's well worth a listen.

Make that four of us, love my indie/ new music and find metal pretty unpalatable to be honest.
First band that comes to mind that deserve a bit of success that has eluded them to date are Exit Calm, try these:

a Morrissey release is still infinitely more interesting than most other things happening in music these days.
Really ??There is so much great music these days, altough not much of it gets main stream airplay ,Zane lowe plays good stuff most nights
Some very good stuff been posted so far and I have added to my list of bands to see , Fuzz and she keeps Bees are faves so far
I find Marc Riley and Gideon Coe much better for indie/new music on night time Radio 6, Zane Lowe seems a bit too "hip hop" for me.
The Morrissey autobiography has put me off buying anything by him ever again which is a real shame reflecting on his back catalogue, it annoyed me that much!

Just staggered in from seeing Trans last night. I had a fair idea Bernard Butker would put a show on but oh my days! He had a 2nd guitarist with him, John McKeown who was easily as good as BB & the pair of them were clearly enjoying themselves & riffing off one another with an incredible intensity & on it for the sheer pleasure of playing.
Absolutely blown away by one of the best gigs I've seen in a long time.

Another new/indie music fan here, recently recommended a New York duo called Widowspeak:

This is a stripped down acoustic version which sounds amazing

Couldn't agree more re Reading/Leeds, I have also tried and failed with Warpaint.Couple more bands to try:
Toy -second album better than first and have finally stepped out from under The Horrors wing, great live.
1877 - Bit more of the motorik sound mixed with Sisters of Mercy, Joy Division, Thom Yorke solo and 1980-82 Cure basically a great new EP, keen to see this lot live.
Radio 6 are doing some great new music shows every night midnight to 0100 and on the iplayer, will be listening back to this with interest
