Anybody using any looping kit or software?

Seen them in use a few times and can really see me using it a bit, but I'm not sure of what features I'm looking for and how much I have to spend. I would prefer a hardware solution, perhaps with foot pedals, but a tabletop or software version would do (if the latter would run on comparatively slow PCs!)

I'm looking for something that will work happily with mic and line level inputs. Whenever I see somebody using one live they don't have headphones on, but how do you not end up with feedback loops when laying down a new track over stuff that is already looping?

I'm primarily interested in "live" looping - so ability to add layers and then switch between different sets of loops (or patterns if you are from a soundtracker background wink) is pretty important - maybe adding/muting/deleting layers on the fly.

Would also want to use it as a straight multitracker if possible.

Am I asking the impossible? Happy to spend a couple of hundred if necessary but prefer to keep it below that.

I'm interested in anyone who has a decent live one that works. I've got a Hardwire DL8 & I can never get the looper function to stay in time.

Boss RC300 should do it. Never has any problems with boss/roland when it comes to live work.

Mate of mine uses a Ditto live, seems to work for him. Small unit too.

use a rc 50 and an rc20xl. used them with guitar and turntables with not so much of a hitch. also like the fact the loopers can store loops too. cant go wrong.

I recently bought a Boss RC-3 Loop Station. I don't gig with it, so can't comment on that aspect, but for what I want it for it's excellent.

Boss RC300 it's supposed to be one of the best.

Another very good one is the Pigtronix Infinity and the Boomerang III. I am currently thinking of picking up the Pigtronix as part of a live set up (midi synced electronic music)
