Looking for a P Bass in Sonic Blue
Discussion
These are rather difficult to find at the moment. It doesn't seem to be a standard Fender or Squier colour at the moment, although it has been from time to time in the past. Google hasn't found anything suitable, there's a couple of second hand ones on eBay but I'd sooner get a new or at least a pristine second hand one. So if anyone spots one for sale I would be interested, thanks.
BTW, I've thought about getting a respray done on one of a different colour but the idea of paying a couple of hundred just for a colour change is one I'm not comfortable with, although I may have to do that if I am going to satisfy this urge.

Thanks for drawing those to my attention. I would be wary of ordering such items from the States though.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fender-American-Vintage-63...

On a different note, Sonic Blue seems to have become a lot paler recently, I looked at a Sonic Blue strat in a music shop on Saturday and it looked almost white. I daresay the hue is the same, but the shade is definitely lighter.
It may be that what I need is Daphne Blue, but that seems to vary a lot too.
This is pretty much the colour I would like to achieve, at least it is on my monitor

If we compare that with the Sonic Blue in the eBay links above there's a distinct difference.
Sonic looks to be quite light on Fenders charts. Hard to say on a monitor though I guess.

Oh it's certainly light now, but I don't believe it was that light in the past.http://www.fender.com/en-GB/support/color-chart/
See what you mean. Yeah, looking at some original vintage stuff it does appear more blue, maybe something to do with the way the nitro has aged? I see on some instruments it's also called faded sonic blue.
