bigsby tremelo and alternatives
Discussion
i have a godin 5th avenue acoustic which i want to electrify and add a tremelo arm. problem being i don't like the look of the bigsby b6 for deep body acoustic guitars.
i do like the b12 but it appears these are for solid body guitars only.
can the b12 be used on an acoustic body? if not why not? also what alternatives are there available even if it means tracking something old and discontinued via ebay?

I'm not an expert on Bigsby trems (but I know a lot about Floyd Rose units
), but it's my guess that the B12 is NFG for your guitar because it has a bar that the strings pass under which would make the angle of the strings across the bridge too sharp.
The B6 doesn't have that extra bar and so doesn't have that problem.
