The first comment on there sums up my thoughts. I love lastfm, but only use it for the nerdy stats on my music and artists etc. I would hate it if it closed and all that data were lost! It does seem not as well used as it was a few years ago though.

I just dont have a reason to use it anymore, I had Spotify Premium for a bit, which was handy for offline playlists, but if I want streaming on my phone in the car the standard Spotify with ads is fine. If I'm at home there's a million and one other apps or radio stations that'll play what I fancy listening to. Scrobbling for me has never been a must have, so havent used Last.fm in probably 6 years

I like the stats, and I used to pay for a subscription, but out and about if I need music I use Google music, at home I just listen to the music library I have.

I am the same as you, I'd be willing to pay a small subscription just to keep track of what I've played etc! I've accidently tried the radio service before but it doesn't suit my style of listening and rarely finds me anything 'new'.
