Vox AC4 C1 (blue)

I play an AC15 C1 as my gigging amp but fancy one of these as wee Xmas present to myself. I've wanted one for ages, just because, but think it will be a perfect, sitting-in-front-of-the-TV amp, and a nice studio toy.
Has anyone got one and if so, how does the sound compare to the top boost channel in the AC15/30? Obviously, it's a smaller speaker and enclosure (I don't fancy the 12 inch as that's effectively what I have but less good) but I'm intrigued as to how close it gets.
Also, anyone driven a cab with it? The rehearsal room has Marshall 4x12 cabs and I normally just use their heads out of laziness to cart the AC15 about the place but I might take one of these down with me and just plonk it on top...will it hold out against a band??

A 10" speaker should be just fine with 4w, my practice amp is a Champion 600 with a 6" speaker and it is perfectly acceptable at bedroom volumes, even with a bit of drive.

Sadly, none of the shops local to me carry them in stock so it'd need to be a bit of a punt.
I tried an AC4 TV a few years ago and was left underwhelmed, but it is a different amp. I found the switchable output of the TV meant very little control over gain/volume but the C1 is meant to replicate the Top Boost channel from the 30 and 15 which I already know very well.
I expect a pedal or two will help it massively but I just want one, I suppose!
Blue or Ivory though??
It does look like a great bedroom amp! I would get an ivory one, but the blue is lovely too.
As a side note, do you use any pedals through your AC15? There is an ancient AC30 head at my Dad's place that he bought second hand in the 70s which I play through a Marshall 4x12 occasionally. I have been meaning to get a nice drive pedal to see what it can do!

I find a Bad Monkey works really well. I normally keep the amp itself on the verge of breaking up so I can use the guitar volume to push it over or pull it back and the Monkey if I need to go all out.As a side note, do you use any pedals through your AC15? I think overdrive pedals generally work a bit better than distortion pedals and you get a really meaty sound out them. I also use a Liquid delay for a bit of snapback when I want to be very rock n roll...
I'd love an AC30 but they're just so heavy. I gig a lot and live not he third floor so it just ain't happening!

My old ac50 head takes pedals very well, I always used it with a boss sd-1 which seemed to work. I really must get it serviced.As a side note, do you use any pedals through your AC15?
