Anyone recommend a glue that 'really' works for neck breaks?

Just bought a load of old acoustics,banjos,banjolins,mandolins and a couple have neck breaks.I've tried to repair a neck break with a product called Titebond 'original',unfortunately i think they've substituted Bird's custard into the bottle instead of any kind of glue product!
Anyone know a glue that really works on high stress areas on a guitar neck?Thanks.

The strongest one would be Aerolite 306, it's a two-part adhesive, but you will need two separate parts to make that work, and most neck breaks involve a split rater than one part breaking off completely. Alternatively you can use Araldite (not the rapid), be sure to heat the mix with a hairdryer until all the micro-bubbles have come out (it will go clear amber when that has happened), and the warmth will make it much easier and thinner to apply. Never use unheated Araldite on a guitar.

But believe it or not ordinary PVA will be more than adequate for most guitar repairs as long as the parts can be well clamped and there are no significant gaps. If there are gaps then Araldite will be the best bet.As the wood fibres will have been ripped apart during the break you may need to remove some of them so that the two parts will meet properly. It's also a lot easier to remove the squeeze-out with PVA than it is the others I've mentioned.

Thanks for the full reply!The worst breaks are on the old banjolin,straight through clean breaks.Wouldnt take much,neck's quite thin obviously compared to full size acoustics.

Its a bit difficult to post pic just now as ive clamped it again to give it a second chance,just incase i done something wrong.No doubt it will give way soon when i take the lamps off!i'll post pics then. ;-)That aerolite seems great stuff from what ive read.

I think tightbond is used to glue necks on for some set neck guitars... Maybe with a look
