It was Jefferson 'Airplane' who were at Monterey, Woodstock, and here, they headlined here at the Isle of Wight in 68 (prob the first big US group to play here?) they even played at the 'FREE' imagine that! Camden Council concerts that same year - Paul Kantner, founder, morphed what remained into Jefferson 'Starship later in the 70s, then to simply 'Starship' in the 80s - 'We built this city...' - and back to Jefferson Starship in the 90s.

Never the same without Grace Slick. 50th anniversary in the New Year, she should have been invited to have one last go.

Going back to the Camden concerts Hampstead Heath - 'free' one i went to in 69 was just for Fleetwood Mac, but also had Pink Floyd, the Pretty Things, Jon Hiseman's Colosseum and loads more. Free! (they were probably on as well).

60s. Those were the days.
